One of the reasons I love tarot is because every reading tells a story.
The cards aren’t just predicting the future. They’re revealing the story you’re living right now… how you see yourself, what you believe is possible, and sometimes the very thing that’s keeping you stuck. When we change the story, we often change the choices we make. And when we change our choices, our lives begin to change too.
That’s why I’m such a believer in storytelling.
Whether it’s through tarot, astrology, or a beautifully written book, stories have a way of helping us see ourselves from a different perspective. They invite us to step outside our own experience for a moment, recognize familiar patterns, and ask better questions. Sometimes that’s exactly what we need to move forward.
One author/artist whose work reminds me of this is Tonya Smith-Duncan. Through her hand-painted graphic stories, she explores love, loss, relationships, and the quiet moments that shape who we become. Her work is thoughtful, honest, and a refreshing reminder that growth doesn’t always come from another self-help book. Sometimes it comes from a story that stays with you long after you’ve finished reading.
If you’re looking for something meaningful to add to your reading list, I encourage you to explore Tonya’s work. You can learn more and browse her collection on her home page.
After all, the stories we surround ourselves with have a way of becoming part of our own.
